Diane Dodds, Declan Maguire (Past President of The Society Of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors) and Ian Milne met recently to discuss the Fuller Report. This Report should encourage England, Wales and Northern Ireland to follow Scotland’s lead and make regulation mandatory for the funeral sector. “ What other business sector would allow unqualified individuals to operate and even open new businesses.” said Ian. There are no mandatory requirements for membership of a trade organisation, it seems utterly wrong, in fact the public aren’t even aware of this anomaly. Diane Dodds is a member of The Stormont Committee on Funerals and Bereavement which Ian started following the formation of the Stormont Assembly.
