About Us

We are an independent, family-owned funeral directors in counties Armagh and Down, established in since 2000. With family and a team of qualified professionals we provide guidance and care for families at a difficult time. We are passionate about the funeral industry and keeping in touch with the ever-changing world we live in.

History

In 1989 Ian attained his Diploma in Funeral Directing.  He was President of the National Association of Funeral Directors Area Federation and is also former Chairman of The British Institute of Funeral Directors NI.

In 2000 Ian opened his first funeral home in Portadown, then as the business grew, he opened his second home in Lurgan and his third in Banbridge.

Ian achieved a Masters Degree in “Work based Learning and Mediation” for work in conflict resolution from Queen’s University Belfast.  His was one of a collection of 35 portraits painted by local artist Susan Hughes called “The Quiet Peacemakers”, in recognition of his conflict resolution work during the troubles.

Ian has an active roll in the business, meeting families and organising funeral services across the three branches. He is the founding member of the National Association of Funeral Director’s Committee on Funerals & Bereavement in the NI Assembly, advising elected representatives on current issues.

Stuart Milne

Ian’s eldest son Stuart joined his dad working in the business in 2005, he studied with the National Association of Funeral Directors gaining his Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2006. After some time working in other industries gaining valuable experience, he rejoined the business in a fulltime position as Headstone and Memorials manager.

Andrew, Ian’s youngest son started working full time in the business in 2011 after finishing school, he has studied with the Independent Funeral Directors College in England where he has achieved his Cert F.P. and graduated with his Diploma in Funeral Directing (Dip FD in June 2024). Andrew is in charge of the day to day organising of the business, writing pre-paid funeral plans with clients, as well as conducting funerals.

Our Locations

We are here to help you with everything you need to plan a funeral, cremation and help to cope with a loss.

Our family business has three branches located in Portadown, Lurgan and Banbridge, allowing us to serve families across Northern Ireland.

Our modern, purpose built funeral homes are designed to accommodate Funeral Services and wakes, with private rooms for families to discuss funeral arrangements and spend time together. Our offices have onsite car parking or off street carparks located near buy.

Allowing us to serve families in Armagh, Bessbrook, Dromore, Tandragee, Lisburn, Loughgall, Loughbrickland, Newry, Markethill, Moira and Richhill.
