Stuart and his team’s most common projects include reinstating recently used graves by concreting, adding new chippings and engraving the persons details on an existing headstone or erecting new granite headstones and surrounds to graves across Northern Ireland.
However one of their most satisfying tasks is to restore a grave that needs special care and attention after some years of deterioration. This example, which the client kindly permitted we share had been damaged by a neighbouring headstone collapsing onto the surround and the original concrete breaking after some years.
They placed the neighbouring headstone back on the correct plot, relevelled and concreted the grave, deep cleaned the granite and repainted the headstone and vase wording so it can be easily identified for years to come.
