Milne Funeral Services are delighted to offer this stunning Land Rover Defender Hearse as an alternative to our modern Duffy Coach bodies Mercedes-Benz Fleet.

The Land Rover Defender Hearse, owned by our good friend Keith Elliott is based on the 110 model, is a truly unique and rugged vehicle that combines the Defender’s renowned off-road capabilities with the respectful solemnity required of a hearse.

The hearse features a bespoke grey Vogue coffin deck, part of a custom coffin carrier system designed to accommodate both traditional-shaped coffins up to 6 feet 5 inches and caskets up to 6 feet. This ensures a versatile and respectful transport solution. Additionally, the vehicle includes finishing touches that uphold the dignity and reverence appropriate for its role.

This Defender hearse is ideally suited for those looking for an unique yet respectful means of transporting loved ones whilst keeping the dignity expected of a funeral vehicle.

Keith comments “This 2005 Land Rover Defender, bought at a local council auction, is an example of both careful craftsmanship and care. With its bodywork in near-perfect condition, this Defender has been thoughtfully stripped back, repainted, and expertly converted into a bespoke funeral hearse.

The conversion process keeps the Defender’s signature rugged appeal while ensuring it meets the specific requirements for transporting loved ones with dignity and respect. The attention to detail in both the aesthetic restoration and functional conversion ensures that the vehicle stands out, blending modern funeral service standards with the Defender’s iconic off-road character.

This Defender hearse not only offers a unique and unconventional method of honouring loved ones, but it also keeps the reliability and timeless design of a Land Rover that has been carefully preserved and tastefully transformed into a fitting tribute vehicle.”
