In today’s digital age the use of technology is a significant part of many lives. Technology is becoming increasingly instrumental in funeral services, helping connect families and loved ones through streaming funeral services, digital memorialisation and sharing funeral arrangements, allowing for a more accessible way to celebrate a life.
In 2021 Milne Funeral Services partnered with Donatis, who provide a secure platform that enables the public to make electronic donations in memory of loved ones via online obituary notices, created specifically for Funeral Directors, it is the only donation management system that enables the funeral director to manage all forms of donation – cash, cheque and online – via their own charities account.
The Donatis platform promotes the transparency and ease of access we wish to provide, allowing Milnes to maintain a high standard of service and the public to donate in memory of a loved one in a simple and accessible way.
We are delighted to announce that the Milnes have embraced QR codes and provide them on the back of service booklets. These small scannable codes provide families and attendees of funeral services with an easy way to access the online tribute page of our website, dedicated to the person that has died with a simple scan using a smartphone. QR codes provide a secure, contactless, and immediate way for mourners to donate to charities via smartphones in memory of their loved one or friend.
